Growth can make people uncomfortable especially people who benefited from the version of you who never said no, always showed up, stayed quiet, or put everyone else first. But becoming more self-aware may require becoming less available for old patterns. You are allowed to change your boundaries, priorities, style, goals, habits, and expectations. You don't need permission to evolve simply because someone preferred who you used to be. Outgrowing yourself isn't betrayal, and outgrowing other people's expectations isn't selfish. The woman you're becoming may make different choices than the woman you were. Let her. Your evolution doesn't require everyone else's approval. Sometimes becoming yourself means disappointing people who were comfortable with your limitations.
